Sales Project Manager
This position will begin as a 12-month contract, with strong potential for long-term employment. While the contract is initially set for 12 months, there is no fixed end date, and extensions beyond the initial term are possible. Conversion to a direct hire role may occur as early as 3 months, depending on individual performance and business needs. Although direct hire is not guaranteed, it is a common outcome for high-performing team members, and most contractors in this role do transition to permanent positions over time.
Avondale, AZ (hybrid).
$52.88/hr to start. Overtime is paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.
Available (health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, etc) benefit eligibility begins the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment.
This role will have 10 days PTO (PTO accrues over time). In going direct hire, there will be significantly more PTO.
Job Description
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and distributes engines, filtration, and power generation products to hire a Sales Project Manager. This will be a hybrid role based in Avondale, AZ. This role is responsible for leading customer-facing projects from initiation through completion while supporting sales, engineering, purchasing, and operations teams. This role manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with customer expectations and business objectives.
Key Skills / Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead multiple customer projects from project kickoff through final completion
- Facilitate project planning sessions to establish scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are achieved
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to successfully execute project deliverables
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, and external vendors throughout the project lifecycle

- Resolve customer concerns with a sense of urgency while maintaining a high level of professionalism
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify project risks and potential issues early in the project lifecycle

- Utilize project management and quality tools to manage risk and improve project outcomes
Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and monitor project budgets
- Allocate project resources effectively while balancing workload and project priorities
- Track project expenses and resource utilization
- Recommend adjustments to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
Technical Project Coordination
- Support projects with an engineering-based approach to problem solving
- Coordinate with engineering, sales, purchasing, and operations teams throughout project execution
- Support equipment deliveries, commissioning activities, and customer acceptance processes
- Review technical documentation and project requirements as needed
Continuous Improvement
- Document lessons learned and best practices throughout project execution
- Share knowledge across project teams to improve future project performance
- Support ongoing process improvement initiatives
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and databases
- Prepare project reports and status updates for management and customers
- Track project actions, assignments, and deliverables through completion
Team Leadership
- Coordinate project resources and assign responsibilities
- Provide guidance and coaching to project team members
- Support team development through constructive feedback and collaboration

Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience. High School Diploma or GED is required at a minimum.
Experience
- Intermediate-level project management experience
- Previous experience leading cross-functional project teams
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Customer-facing project management experience preferred

Work Environment / Other Info:
- This is a 1st (day) shift role. Hours will generally be 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
- This will be a hybrid role (generally 2-3 days working from home, 2-3 days working remote).
- There may be occasional overtime as needed. Any overtime will be paid at 1.5x.
- Offer may be contingent upon a drug screen (which may include cannabis) and a background check. This position may require compliance with applicable export control or sanctions regulations.
- Up to 25% travel is required to support customer job sites, equipment deliveries, and generator commissioning activities.
