The Catering and Events Coordinator role demands a skill for multi-tasking, training, delegating, and helping maintain a positive work environment.

As the face of our Organization, you must be service oriented and help nurture relationships with our customers and partners.

This role also ensures the successful delivery and guest satisfaction of our catering and sales department offerings.Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage the Dog Tag Orders email and catering platform. Assist with all orders that come through online and in person.
  • Maintain the catering and events platforms to reflect new menu items and new promotions.
  • Provide creative input in the catering and events department.
  • Track all necessary details for orders and promptly communicate any order needs to the kitchen and corresponding Dog Tag team.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain existing catering and events partnerships.
  • Serve as a manager on duty for assigned events, oversee staff and volunteers, execution of all catering and event details, and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Purchase and maintain necessary inventories of catering, event supplies, and appropriate items to par levels following monthly standards.
  • Manage the Special Events calendar to track all orders; coordinate with the team as necessary for special requests.
  • Perform competitive analyses and identify potential clients for outreach.
  • Assist in holiday project production through interdepartmental communications, billing, and staff supervision.
  • Maintained high levels of communication to coordinate orders with the Kitchen, Cafe, and Delivery drivers.
  • Generate invoices and billing statements for partners, vendors, and clients.
  • Process payments according to established guidelines while collaborating with the billing department to track accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Oversee, prepare, and complete the packaging and plating of orders.
  • Professional communication and teamwork with all Dog Tag staff and Fellows.
  • Participate in teaching catering operations within Dog Tag Fellowship Program.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures, service standards, and nut-free certification.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies in accordance with the District of Columbia Health Code.Qualifications
  • Associate’s in Hospitality Management or similar.
  • 2+ years of Catering experience, 1+ years of industry management experience, 1+ years of driving experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Clear understanding and enthusiasm for Dog Tag Inc. mission.
  • Clean driving record and safe driving practices.
  • Must be punctual and ensure the delivery driver is set up for all deliveries to arrive before the event time.
  • Great attention to detail and works well under pressure.
