EXL Program Coordinator

The EXL Program Coordinator leads high-quality expanded learning programs that support the academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth of K12 youth. This role requires a compassionate, curious, humble, accountable, and purpose-driven leader who cultivates strong relationships, supervises staff, ensures program quality and compliance, and develops meaningful partnerships with schools, families, and communities. Benefits

• Pay rate: $73,500 - $76,500 annually, based on regional grant funding, size and scope of program, and experience

• Design, implement, and oversee project-based, culturally responsive, and enrichment-focused programming aligned with youth interests and school-day learning goals.
• Develop program schedules, lesson plans, systems, and operational structures that support high-quality implementation.
• Use attendance, participation, engagement, assessment, and quality improvement data to strengthen program outcomes.
• Engage in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes, using assessment and reflection data to inform academic instruction, literacy activities, enrichment offerings, and small-group supports.
• Monitor student progress and program effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with expanded learning staff and school-site stakeholders to develop programming that supports student development and academic success.

• Ensure compliance with BACR policies, district requirements, grant regulations, state regulations, and licensing requirements where applicable.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, program documentation, payroll submissions, incident reports, and compliance reporting.
• Ensure all required reports, student attendance records, snack reports, and other documentation are submitted accurately and on time.
• Uphold policies related to child supervision, emergency preparedness, mandated reporting, and risk management.
• Ensure health, safety, and wellness standards are consistently maintained throughout all program operations.
• Communicate concerns proactively and address operational, staffing, and student issues before they escalate.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily program operations and ensure the successful implementation of all expanded learning services at the school site.
• Create a positive, engaging, and purpose-driven culture for youth, families, and staff.
• Supervise program staff, volunteers, and activity leaders through ongoing coaching, support, performance feedback, and professional development.
• Conduct regular staff meetings, one-on-one supervision meetings, observations, and performance evaluations.
• Support staff recruitment, screening, onboarding, retention, performance improvement, and separation processes in partnership with People & Culture.
• Oversee student recruitment, enrollment, registration, scheduling, and attendance initiatives to meet program participation goals.
• Monitor staffing structures and payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
• Serve as a visible leader and role model who promotes student success, staff excellence, and organizational values.
• Participate fully in BACR trainings, professional development opportunities, district meetings, and agency-wide initiatives

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree or higher; alternatively, completion of at least 48 college units or passage of the Instructional Aide Examination.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and TB clearance.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a K12 educational setting or youth-serving program.
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience leading and supporting adult staff.
• Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday and commit through the academic school year.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with youth, families, school personnel, and community partners.
• Proficiency with technology platforms including Google Drive, email, spreadsheets, and program management systems.
• Working knowledge of restorative practices, youth development principles, and DEIB concepts

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Experience managing grant-funded educational or expanded learning programs.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish, English/Chinese, or other languages)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand, sit, walk, kneel, and move throughout program spaces for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to actively supervise youth during indoor and outdoor activities.
• Ability to travel between program spaces and participate in school and community events as needed
