Program Coordinator

Colorado Ceasefire is dedicated to preventing gun violence through education, advocacy, and community engagement. We believe in common-sense solutions that save lives while respecting the rights of responsible gun owners. Our programs empower communities with the knowledge, tools, and connections they need to build safer environments for all.

Colorado Ceasefire Outreach is seeking a passionate and well-organized program coordinator to oversee our community-based gun-violence-prevention education efforts. This role will be responsible for coordinating our youth internships, school/community outreach programs, and tabling efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee our youth development internship program, which includes direct oversight of student interns;
  • Organize and support tabling efforts at community events;
  • Schedule and deliver in-person and virtual English/Spanish presentations at schools, community centers, and partner locations throughout the Denver Metro Area, with some travel across the Front Range or to more rural areas;
  • Oversee workshop and tabling setup, attendance tracking, and basic reporting;
  • Communicate professionally with staff, school personnel, and community partners;
  • Create a trauma-informed, positive, inclusive, and engaging experience for program participants, volunteers, and interns;
  • Track volunteer and intern hours, participation, and impact for grant reporting and recognition.

Qualifications

  • Fluency or proficiency in both English and Spanish;
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and project management skills;
  • 1-2 years of experience working with and educating youth, families, or community groups;
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules;
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally;
  • Reliable internet access and comfort using email and virtual meeting platforms;
  • Experience/knowledge of issues facing gun violence survivors preferred but not required;
  • Must pass a background check;
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent;
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.

Benefits

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time, 1099 contract position;
  • Flexible scheduling based on program demand;
  • Maximum 20 hours per week;
  • Compensation is $30 per hour;
  • Mileage reimbursement available;
  • Work primarily from home, with some travel to our office and school workshops.
