Program Coordinator (Recruitment & Engagement)

First Descents (FD) is a nonprofit that provides life-changing outdoor adventures for young adults (ages 18-39) impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions. The Program Coordinator (PC) plays a central role in the logistical setup and recruitment of participants plus the execution of FD's participant experience, including but not limited to program communication and application processing.

This is a hybrid position based in Denver, Colorado with the requirement to be in the office two days per week, and any additional time required to complete tasks in person. The Program Coordinator will report to the Program Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of assigned core programs and may support a portfolio of Community Adventures, ensuring each program is safe, meaningful, and successful.
• Support each participant throughout the application process and ensure paperwork is completed in a timely manner. Deliver applicant information to relevant parties.
• Adhere to FD's medical review process, follow policies and practices, and escalate any potential medical application related issues to relevant parties.
• Communicate program information and details with participants, field staff, and volunteers to ensure each group has all the necessary information.
• Track all program information in the CRM system (Salesforce).
• Serve as contingency field staff and willingly respond to staffing needs.
• Cover the programs hotline during the programs season, April - October. Typically, 2-4 weekends and 4-6 weekday weeks per season.
• Aid in the shipping of necessary materials for programs, conferences, and Community Adventures, as needed.
• Follow up with prospective participants via phone, email, and text message to ensure participants better understand the FD participant pathway and application process.
• Develop and send key participant recruitment emails.
• Manage program's email account as the main point of contact for current and future participants.
• Manage recruitment for assigned programs and track against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), (e.g., fill rate, cancellation rate) and other team goals.
• Manage program related data entry and database development.
• Monitor and track progress against related KPIs (e.g., total # of programs).
• Review surveys and incorporate findings into a body of work.
• Other duties, as assigned.

• Ability to effectively address and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Basic understanding of working with data and project management systems and/or willingness to learn. Familiarity with Salesforce is a bonus!
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
• Self-motivated and eager to jump into projects (put another way, you're a problem solver!)
• Energetic and enjoy engaging with staff, partners, and vendors.
• Wilderness First Aid certificate is preferred, but not required.
• Committed to advancing FDs' JEDI goals.

• Strong passion for FD's mission and support for its long-term vision and goals.

Inside Details:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position based at our headquarters in Denver, CO. The position will be a hybrid of office/remote work with the expectation of being in the office two days per week. There may be a few times throughout the year where you are asked to work nights or weekends.

The compensation range for this position is $21.85 to $25.45 per hour.
