This per diem position works 10 hour shifts 1-2 days per week. Start times are typically between 7 : 30 9 : 30 for on-campus responsibilities (earlier for Mobile Drive assignments).
Weekend and holiday coverage is a must.
As a successful candidate, you will :
- Serve as the initial in-center customer service contact for all blood / platelet donors.
- Be responsible for computer registration of donors and resolve routine donor issues / complaints.
- Provide extensive data entry for all products collected both in on-site and on mobile blood drives
- Serve as Registrar for all blood donors coming in to donate blood components. Periodically attend mobile blood drives to serve as Registrar.
- Provide support to charge nurses and staff in Donor Room with duties such as answering incoming calls, ordering, and printing blood product labels, posting deferrals and / or memos in Safetrace, and paging CS Techs when needed.
- Have flexibility with work hours depending on collection schedules for both on-site work and mobile drives.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include :
- High School or equivalent
- Two years in an office setting, preferably in a medical office or healthcare institution.
- Two years experience in computer data entry.
- CPR certification through American Heart Association
- Bilingual in English / Spanish preferred
