Coding Specialist - CCS - Hospital Inpatient

Position Responsibilities :

• Performs coding and abstracting on inpatient medical records by selecting and documenting ICD 10-CM Diagnoses and PCS procedure codes
• Assigns correct ICD-10-CM / PCS codes with coding accuracy rate of 95% or greater.
• Performs abstracting of coding and clinical data (i.e discharge disposition, discharge date, patient type, etc) with an accuracy rate of 95% or greater.
• Codes / Abstracts 2.5 inpatient charts per hour.
• Process of emails within a 24 to 48 hour response time.
• Process EPIC dashboard all work Queues, IP Priority, coding Review Needed Daily

Maintains current status of coding credentials, by annually submitting proof of compliance with AHIMA requirements.
