Description
Our client, a leading construction company, is currently seeking an ambitious Engineering Manager to help lead their team. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated candidate with a go-getter attitude and a drive to succeed. Responsibilities include :
1) Compile a complete and comprehensive set of documents, including plans and specifications that a project management team can build by
2) Display competent knowledge of all contract documents and function with autonomy making favorable documentation interpretation
3) Display competence in developing optimum work methods; and the preparation of sketches and drawings
4) Secure approval of in-house standards of construction and provide support to other designers
5) Understand each project to determine the amount of time to be devoted to estimating, securing and final design
6) Build rapport and working relationships with supervision, project teams, and others that influence decisions for purchasing, estimating, planning, construction, and business functions
7) Build productive working relationships with owners, architects, customers, subcontractors, and vendors
8) Work effectively with administrative staff to support design-build record keeping, proposals, and billings
9) Display competent knowledge and understanding of codes, industry standards, plumbing systems and mechanical systems
10) Ensure compliance with company policy, contracts and applicable state and local laws
11) Understand systems and layout within a building envelope
12) Compile an efficient and cost-effective design within the guidelines of the project
13) Perform heat load calculations using the latest software
14) Maintain software updates for design and engineering programs
15) Provide value engineering when evaluating projects
16) Perform other duties as assigned
Critical Requirements
3) Recent experience in the construction industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in engineering management
