We push the limits of innovation to solve the world's most important challenges—striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career.

THE ROLE:

The Senior Technical Program Manager – Strategic Initiatives role is a customer-focused, solutions-oriented role within a global team responsible for improving the quality, performance, yield, cost, and accelerating innovation across AMD products. This position supports cross‐regional teams in North America and Asia and drives root cause analysis, sustainable corrective actions, and strategic initiatives that advance product quality and time‐to‐market within the Product Engineering Operations (PEO) organization. The role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and clear, effective communication with PEO leadership.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate has experience in semiconductor product, test, fab, or quality engineering and a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently. Success in this role requires strong cross‐functional communication, stakeholder engagement, coaching, and change leadership across global teams. Flexibility to collaborate across time zones, including early morning or evening meetings, is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a portfolio of high‐impact product and technology development initiatives from concept through completion.
  • Partner with executive leaders, project sponsors, and key stakeholders to define and deliver programs aligned with strategic business objectives.
  • Drive execution across diverse, cross‐functional, and globally distributed teams.
  • Own end‐to‐end program management, including planning, execution, measurement, reporting, and closure.
  • Coordinate and oversee multiple project teams to ensure successful delivery of program goals and milestones.
  • Develop and execute effective communication and change management strategies to support adoption and sustained impact.
  • Provide hands‐on leadership and day‐to‐day project management as needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated success delivering measurable improvements in quality, yield, cost, or time‐to‐market within the semiconductor or advanced technology industry for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Proven track record leading and executing complex, cross‐functional technical programs in a semiconductor environment for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Hands‐on experience in semiconductor product engineering, test engineering, or manufacturing environments, with the ability to translate technical insight into business impact.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • PMP certification preferred, demonstrating structured program execution and delivery discipline.
  • MBA preferred, reflecting strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification preferred, with experience driving data‐driven process improvement and operational excellence.

LOCATION:

Austin, Texas
