Job Overview

The Onboarding Supervision and Outside Business Activities Team is responsible for conducting due diligence reviews of prospective advisors seeking to affiliate with LPL Enterprise. The Supervisory Principal reviews Outside Business Activities (OBA), Private Securities Transactions (PST), and office sharing requests to ensure compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements. This role partners closely with multiple departments across LPL, as well as Prudential partners, to facilitate the onboarding and supervision process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct due diligence reviews of prospective advisors affiliating with LPL Enterprise as a first-line Supervisory Principal
  • Review Outside Business Activity (OBA) and Private Securities Transaction (PST) requests for prospective advisors to ensure compliance with firm policies and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Consult with prospective advisors regarding outside business activities, private securities transactions, and office sharing arrangements
  • Research, investigate, and address situations where firm policies or regulatory requirements are not being followed
  • Interact with prospective advisors, business partners, internal departments, and senior leadership to evaluate and communicate compliance determinations, while supporting special projects and investigations
  • Assist with research and responses to regulatory inquiries, including branch examinations
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives, including policy enhancements, process improvements, and training efforts
  • Perform additional duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in financial services, with a focus on compliance reviews involving outside business activities
  • Prior client-facing experience with a demonstrated ability to confidently communicate complex issues, explain regulatory requirements, and ask thoughtful, open-ended questions
  • Knowledge of FINRA, SEC, and state regulatory rules and requirements
  • Licensing: FINRA Series 7, Series 24, and Series 63 or Series 66

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining flexibility and prioritizing competing demands
  • Customer focus, collaboration skills, time management, organizational abilities, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, sound judgment, and strong problem-solving and follow-through capabilities
  • Experience with Adobe, all Microsoft applications, particularly, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Familiarity with Salesforce a plus
  • Customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to make sound regulatory and risk-based decisions to support daily supervisory responsibilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to proactive collaboration and service-oriented responses when addressing escalated issues and business partner concerns

Pay Range:

$62,727.00 - $104,545.00 Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
